NEW SITE, EAGLE VALLEY GC Carson City HUGE SUCCESS!    May 23, 2010

Wow, what a day! The weather was fantastic and there haven't been too many days we have been able to say that! The turn-out was fantastic. The PGA Professionals from The Sierra Nevada Chapter NCPGA and The NCPGA along with some LPGA members, First Tee were, as always, GREAT.

We had some incredible Sponsors: The Fred and Judy Alexander Foundation, Ken and Marietta Alexander, Eagle Valley Golf Course, Calculated Industries, Inc Play Golf America, The Northern California PGA Section, The Sierra Nevada Chapter PGA, The Antigua Group, SUNDOG and Reno Golf Headquarters.

We hosted well over 700 kids and family members to a day of golf like no other. They had the opportunity to watch one of the most amazing Trick Shot Artists, The great Joey 'O'! Every participant got a Fred Alexander Memorial Family Golf Clinic T-shirt and back-pack filled with great stuff including a specialty calculator designed by Calculated Industries, Inc., golf balls, tees, programs and information regarding all of the local junior golf programs.

Every junior and War Hero received a terrific pair of SUNDOG sunglasses. (thanks Ryan Chin and AMA Golf!) A very important part of our day is that Our Foundation gives each participant a golf club, fit to their size, to use for our day and to continue golf throughout the summer. We also provide a pizza lunch and all of the Professionals give their time to work with all of the family members on long game, short game and rules and respect. Our Foundation and Calculated Industries, Inc., has a free raffle for all participants and a grand prize raffle is held at the end of the day.

Thank you to Old Greenwood GC, Gray's Crossing G&CC, Genoa Lakes and Resort GC and Calculated Industries for donating golf and calculators for our adult raffle that raised funds for our Foundation throughout the day's activities.

Obviously, an event like this takes a lot of man-power and VOLUNTEERS. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all that participated and helped the actual event day as well as everyone behind the scenes. Calulated Industries and The OARC deserve a special thank you for their help with graphics (Phil thanks!), registration, back-pack/fanny-pack stuffing and certainly not least, purchasing A LOT of great raffle prizes!!

I want to thank all of you for your outstanding dedication to our kids, families, veterans, and community with your support of our Clinics.

Shelly

ps Thank you Fred, for your help with the weather!!

QUARRY OAKS, Ashland, Nebraska HUGE HIT!!    September 12, 2009

Quarry Oaks event held on Saturday, June 27th in Ashland Nebraska. WHAT A DAY!!! We had had the worst week of weather prior to our day with heat indexes up around 110 degrees. Didn't know how we would pull it all off, but Fred did his magic and once again the day was overcast (a little threatening, but never came in over Quarry Oaks) and 80 degrees. It was an awesome day in many ways!! FIRST OF ALL A VERY BIG THANKS TO QUARRY OAKS (Joe, Brian, Staff, Owners, etc) for being such a terrific host facility. It takes a certain type of place to accommodate our kind of clinic. Quarry Oaks is truly one of the most beautiful settings and courses back in that area. You should take time to visit there when you have a chance. The course sets along the Platte River and is really quite stunning. Our event began with a lot of pre-registrations. We were busy entering data for a lot of excited families! At registration, every participant received a T-shirt and back-pack compliments of The Fred and Judy Alexander Foundation) We have great golf goodies included in those bags (tees, program for the day, candy, calculator especially made for our events and donated by Calculated Industries, Inc. THANK YOU to all that make that possible) After we get everyone through regristration we keep them in the cool indoors or they get to go out to our Exhibition area where our great performer for the day KEVIN COMPARE was warming up and get a good birds eye seat. Craig Estiduillo (announcer for Salt Dog baseball and some Husker activities) provided dj'g for the day and we had great music and pa capabilities for Kevin and myself. THE NEBRASKA PGA SECTION and PLAY GOLF AMERICA were terrific and we want to thank them for their support of bringing Kevin back to Nebraska. THE PROFESSIONALS WERE ALL GREAT. I have heard so many positive comments regarding the level of instruction received so a very big thank you goes out to our Professionals for that day!

SPONSORS FOR NEBRASKA: We have so many great National Sponsors as well as local sponsors. The Fred and Judy Alexander Foundation Ken and Marietta Alexander The Antigua Group The Nebraska PGA Section Play Golf America Sundog Sunglasses

We have so many wonderful Family members that help with this particular event. We couldn't do it without each and every one of you. Charlene and Jim Simpson need to have special recognition as they do SO MUCH not only the day of the event but take care of many things in the background leading up to our big day. THANK YOU! I am very thankful for my Husband's help and all of his family as there were a lot of little things that happen throughout the day and they all jumped in and got things on the right track and we thank them all very much!

AGAIN, THANKS TO ALL and LOOK FORWARD TO A WONDERFUL 2010! Shelly
